Obama vs. Concealed Carry Laws

Many states have enacted concealed carry laws over the past decade. The result, in every case, has been a reduction in crime. The shootings over traffic accidents, backyard arguments, etc., that opponents warned us about haven’t happened. Barack Obama nevertheless repeats those arguments:

“I am not in favor of concealed weapons,” Obama said. “I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations.”

I like commenter Mike’s response: “Never trust a politician that doesn’t trust you.” Bob Owens has much more.

  1. You can not trust every person in America when it comes to weapons that can end a life, that are made to end a life.

Because people get angry. people get angry behind the wheel, people get angry at the bar, people get angry at work.

When people get angry, what is the first thing they pitch out the window? Their better judgement. I don’t want every snap-case with a bone to pick, to have a pistol in his belt.

You say that “In every case” concealed-carry laws have relulted in a decrease in crime.

I defy you to prove it, and also prove causation, because that is what you are alluding to. You are suggesting that concealed-carry laws have resulted in that change to the rate of crime, and im sure that im not the only one who would see that connection you have drawn as dubious and unverifiable.

please substantiate your arguments, as without proof, your argument is merely opinion.

and you know what they say about opinions…

    they’re like a**holes, everyone’s got one.
